Testing conducted by The Ohio State University has confirmed that Roof Maxx treatment doesn’t affect the fire risk or the spread of flames on an asphalt shingle roof. The experiment involved setting fire to the edges of two roofs, one treated with Roof Maxx and the other untreated, for 10 minutes. Post-experiment examination revealed no difference in flame spread or damage between the treated and untreated shingles, proving that Roof Maxx doesn’t increase fire risk or rate of spread.
Additionally, the testing showed that Roof Maxx enhances shingle flexibility, adhesion, and hail resistance, and restores shingle permeability closer to new shingles.
